Bravo! Way to go, team!

Happy Wednesday, friends of learning!
Today was a special day in Room 208. We were teachers for teachers!
This morning, during period 2, we welcomed a team of 5 teachers from different schools across the division to our classroom and we showed them that Ness Knights are Writers!

After starting our day in groups at the white boards (tasked with writing algebraic equations for our Math Mobile questions as seen above), we came together as a class with the objective of writing out a set of steps to explain the process of solving a mobile. Our overall goal is to connect our algebra-Math-thinking with our French writing.

During the shared-write process, we, as a group, share our ideas and collaborate to write the best text we can. Mme Careen is the one holding the pen, so she is the one guiding us to ensure our writing is focused and on track to meeting our objective.

We are collaborating as a class to write down Step #2 in our mobile problem-solving process.

An important part of the shared-write process is stopping frequently to re-read what we have written. We re-read our texts aloud, together as a class. Reading our writing let's us review what we have written so far and allows us to hear what our text will sound like to our reader. This also lets us catch any mistakes (such as missing or repeated words) and helps us ensure our message is clear. (Does our thinking follow a logical order? Did we choose the best words? Did we include appropriate/required vocabulary?)

We are reading our shared write aloud as a group.

We get stronger as writers each time we come together and collaborate as a class to create a model text which will then guide us in our own writing later on.
Not bad for a period 2's work! :)
