We were busy at work this morning in both Français and Science.
In Français, we got to work on our "Qui suis-je" haiku poems, based on someone or something from the book
Le chandail de hockey. After brainstorming, we wrote our rough draft and started making revisions. We need to make sure we respect the 5 - 7 - 5 syllable pattern. Our next steps on Monday will be to continue reading our own poem and then conferencing and revising our work with a least 2 friends before doing a final spelling/grammar check online. Our final draft will be typed up in Keynote, where we will have a chance to choose colours and images to represent our haiku. Our work will be on display for you to see next Wednesday at conferences.
We can't wait for you to "guess who" with our haiku!
In Science, we started designing our own experiment as part of our Tomatosphere Extension activity. Working independently or with a partner, we need to identify an independent variable we would like to test and then design an experiment in order to test it. We do not have to carry the experiment through to the end; we are responsible to design the first 4 steps: "But," "Hypothèse," "Matériaux" and "Méthode."
We need to make sure our steps are specific and written clearly to ensure everyone who follows them will be able to complete the experiment successfully.
We will have 2 more work periods next week before handing in our experiments to Mme.
