Happy Monday! Happy New Year!
It was so wonderful seeing everyone back at school with so many stories to share!
We started our morning learning about what kept us busy over the break: sleeping in, reading books, eating candy and watching movies were very popular squares on our "Trouve quelqu'un qui a..." bingo!
We then worked in partners or in groups of three to solve a Math word problem about arriving to a movie on time. We used small white boards to work through the steps and then compared our answers with other groups, making changes if necessary.
After locker break, we paired up once again to do a special "getting to know you" interview. We started by asking our partner 15 questions and then took their answers and put them into a silly "Mad Libs" style paragraph. This activity helped us get our brains back in to "french immersion" mode after a two-week break by having us read aloud and answer questions IN FRENCH! :)
We finished our morning together watching an "ONIVA" episode all about animals. Before starting the episode, we review the questions that we need to answer while watching the show so we know what to listen for. We watch the episode with the french subtitles, which also helps us follow along since the hosts speak quickly at times, using vocabulary words that we might not yet be familiar with.
Ask me about the true or false question about penguins and a polar bear. You'll NEVER guess what the answer!
