Happy Thursday!

We were happy to welcome Mme Alex from WISE (Women In Science and Engineering) to our classroom this morning! We learned about Electricity and had the opportunity to build different types of circuits using Snap Circuit sets. We also built a basic motor using objects we could easily find at home: a battery, safety pins, a rubber band, a thin wire and magnets. So fun!

In Math, we continued learning about positive and negative integers (les nombres entiers). We also put our artistic skills to use this morning to create an ocean scene by placing certain elements at specific places on a number line. We will then use these pictures to answer a set of extension questions involving positive and negative numbers.

Hello learning friends!

We had a great morning of learning today!

In Math, we worked in groups at the white board to figure out how many times we would write the number 7 if we were to write all the numbers between 0 and 1000. We came up with some great strategies!

In French, we listened to Mme Careen read us the story, "La merveilleuse machine à se faire les amis" by Rick Bland, and then we were divided into four groups to start rehearsing a reader's theatre version of the story. We are focusing on correctly pronouncing all of the words and reading our parts with expressions.
We will practice again tomorrow and then present the play on Friday.
